Dubai, UAE; June 10, 2014
The Competency & Career Development unit, within the Group Human Resources Department at Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), organised a seminar on 'Self-development' as part of ongoing activities to strengthen the skills of staff members, and take responsibility for planning and implementing their development goals.
Accomplished Emirati entrepreneur and motivational speaker Hala Kazim was the guest speaker, who shared insights with ENOC's UAE National employees on 'How to Love Yourself.' The session was specially organised for the UAE National Development Programme (NDP).
Kazim shared her experiences on how individuals can accomplish their full potential by believing in oneself and thinking out-of-the-box. She underlined the value of pursuing one's dreams and goals as well as the importance of positive thinking, and inspired the participants to be self-confident to achieve their goals.
Saba Al Tukmachy, Career & Competency Development Manager at ENOC, said: "We are focused on developing the skills of our employees through year-round training programmes. The National Development Programme is a key initiative that aims to nurture the skills of our Emirati staff. We organise various activities, including external guest lectures, to build their competencies. Hala Kazim's lecture enabled our team to learn from her experiences and advice on how to enhance their personal and professional lives."
ENOC's NDP is a comprehensive professional training programme for Emiratis in the UAE. It has five proficiency levels - Tatweer, Tadreeb, Ajyaal, Mawaheb, and Imtiaz - which focus on developing the functional, behavioural, professional, managerial, and leadership skills of ENOC's National workforce.
The Emirati employees are chosen for different career development pathways based on their skills and a gap-analysis process. To date, ENOC's NDP has trained more than 252 employees.
