Emirates NBD, the leading bank in the region, hosted the Dubai Human Resources Forum (DHRF), for an interactive and engaging full-day workshop on the UAE Labour Law. This activity formed part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility Programme and commitment to supporting various community initiatives, and non-profit organizations, as well as encouraging professional development.

The Dubai Human Resources Forum was founded in the mid 1970s as a group of HR professionals, the majority of whom are based in Dubai, working together to promote knowledge, encourage development and best practices and to network with fellow professionals. The Forum currently has more than 300 members representing over 150 companies from most business sectors across the Emirates, and organises approximately 20 seminars, workshops, site visits and other events each year.

The Labour Law workshop was facilitated by Mr. Abdulhakim Binherz, GM Legal Affairs and Fraud Prevention & Investigation at Emirates NBD, who has 23 years' experience as a banking professional at regional and international level. Mr. Binherz discussed aspects of the UAE Labour Law focussing on employment contracts and termination, and provided an opportunity for the exchange of views and opinions through case studies. The workshop ended with Q&A and discussion of live case studies in various organisations. The proceedings were conducted by Mr. Binherz, the DHRF Chairman Martin Jalili, and DHRF Committee Member and Manager at Emirates NBD Nimisha Mascarenhas.
