EMDAD to manage the preparation, cooking and serving of three daily meals to more than 15,000 residents, totaling over 13 million meals per year by 2020
EMDAD GULF CATERING (EGCL), a subsidiary of GCC SERVICES, has won a five year catering contract with Dubai South. Under the terms of this contract, expected to begin July 2017, EMDAD GULF CATERING will provide catering services for the residents of Sakany at Dubai South, the 145 square kilometer master planned city built around the Al Maktoum International Airport.
Expected to house an estimated 15,000 residents once complete in 2020, Sakany is Dubai South’s best-in-class staff accommodation purpose-built to ensure employee happiness, well-being, and productivity.
EGCL participated in the design of the kitchen and dining halls for Sakany. This includes developing a 55,000 square foot central kitchen and six dining halls, with a total seating capacity of 7,500. EGCL will also provide all the kitchen and dining halls equipment and will manage the preparation, cooking and serving of three daily meals to more than 15,000 residents, totaling over 13 million meals per year.
The meals will be prepared in the dedicated central kitchen within Sakany and dispatched to the dining halls in temperature controlled cabinets and trucks approved by the UAE Health Authority. The meals will be planned to cater to different nationalities living in the village.
