Growing Demand for Storage Solutions in Egypt Pushes EMC to Widen Market Reach
CAIRO, Egypt
EMC - the world leader in information storage systems, software, networks and services – is set to enhance its market reach in Egypt with the recent appointment of Giza Systems as its first in-country partner in the North Africa region.
The company is partnering with the leading Egyptian IT provider, Giza Systems, as a value-added reseller (do more than resell, would value- added rep be stronger?) across the country based on escalating demand in Egypt for storage solutions.
By formalizing the alliance, EMC now has the opportunity to delve further into the Egyptian market with the assistance of Giza Systems’ “on-the-ground” support, while Giza Systems can offer its extensive customer base a comprehensive range of EMC’s hardware, software, and networking storage solutions.
“Decision-makers from a variety of sectors, particularly telecoms, utilities and energy, are currently evaluating their storage needs and we are gearing up to meet the tremendous demand that is erupting in the market,” said Shehab El Nawawi, managing director, Giza Sytems.
“We are proud to have entered this partnership with EMC, which is acknowledged as the global market leader in storage solutions. As a result, Giza System’s customers will benefit from the greater productivity, reliability, and ease of managing their growing data volumes afforded by EMC solutions,” said El Nawawi.
The relationship between EMC and Giza Systems is expected to deliver positive market share figures as Egyptian customers’ storage requirements continue to grow. “With almost three decades of technology expertise and a strong track record in the Egyptian market, Giza Systems is the ideal candidate for EMC’s first in-country partner for Egypt,” said Mohammed Amin, general manager, EMC Middle East.
“We expect that the partnership with Giza Systems will enable EMC to develop increased market share in Egypt’s most prominent sectors such as government, oil and gas, telecommunications, transportation and education,” added Amin.
Companies in Egypt face a number of storage and information management challenges, ranging from effective organization of the thousands of e-mails they receive every day, to devising bulletproof back-up procedures that ensure they can recover critical information in the event of a system failure or other unplanned downtime.
“With our new relationship, Giza Systems will be able to provide storage solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing systems. Based on our extensive experience of workingexclusively in Egypt ???( we are not exclusive in Egypt, maybe we should say” experience within theregion), we are able to use our vast knowledge-base to further develop our position in the market,” said El Nawawi.
Confirming its commitment to the partnership, Giza Systems is investing in extensive training for its technical team on the entire EMC range. The comprehensive educational sessions, conducted by EMC, will ensure that Giza Systemssales personnel technical staff members are able to offer comprehensive storage consultancy services.
