Houston firm EFC Group, a leading designer and manufacturer of Handling, Control, Instrumentation, and Monitoring Systems for the global oil and gas industry, has further invested in it's US operation with two key appointments.

A rapidly expanding global company, EFC is predicting 60% international growth over the next 2 years, with a strong focus on the US market, which currently accounts for 30% of the company's annual turnover.

To aid global growth EFC has made two key US appointments. Mike Coady, formerly an Instrument Engineer at Odfjell Drilling and KCA Deutag (RDS) and prior to that Sales Manager with National Oilwell Varco, has been appointed as General Manager Americas.

Mr Coady said: "With North & South American and Gulf of Mexico sectors accounting for more than 30% of our international business, the US market is extremely important to us and is supported by our growing Houston team. We are continuing to develop our reputation as a specialist company providing tailored drilling, well control and BOP System solutions to the global oil and gas industry."

With a vast knowledge of BOP Systems and Choke Control, Vance Williams, who has worked with drilling and production control systems since 1978 and who's previous roles include 26 years experience as an account manager at Cameron Controls, has been appointed as EFC Group Senior Account Executive Houston and will further advance the company's expansion plans in the US.

Mr Coady continues: "As the rig market boomed, 2006 saw EFC design and develop its own BOP MUX Control system for deepwater use in the Gulf of Mexico. The design is novel, but uses tried and tested components; it has been extremely well received, attracting considerable interest from other rig owners in the Gulf of Mexico and Brazil."

EFC's BOP, Choke and Well Control system packages account for 46% of EFC's 2010 contract awards, as a supplier of bespoke upgrades it is forecast this percentage will increase at accelerating levels.  Recent client and market needs have led to several product advancements including EFC's Fast Fill BOP Test Unit, BOP Event Logging System, BOP Acoustics package along with sophisticated Choke Control packages with increased redundancy options.

Headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland, the Houston  premises include a large workshop and design facilities.  EFC Group employ 69  staff worldwide with  international representation in Singapore, Abu Dhabi UAE, Macae Brazil and India, making the group well placed to serve its global client network.
