Rates for the two service reduced from 9 Dhs. to 7.2 Dhs. per hour

Dubai, August 9, 2004: eCompany, Etisalat's one-stop e-powerhouse business unit that provides Internet services and total e-solutions, announced that it had cut the hourly rate for two of its Internet access services by more than 20 per cent. Hourly rates for the Dial 'N' Surf and Prepaid Internet services will now be charged at 7.2 Dhs. as compared to 9 Dhs. previously. Billing will be done in minutes, as earlier.

These two services charge the user only for access time. There are no subscription charges, monthly rental charges, minimum usage requirements and no need for a separate billing account. They allow easy Internet access for visitors to the UAE or for occasional users who wish to browse the Internet. All that users need to have is a computer with modem connected to phone line and browsing software.

Dial 'N' Surf service allows users in the UAE to dial 500 5555 and get connected to the Internet, without the need for any service subscription or documentation. Users are charged directly to the phone number they are dialling from.

Prepaid Internet is an innovative approach to Internet access from eCompany. Through the same prepaid disposable scratch cards that allow voice-related services such as the use of the public phones or the recharge of Wasel GSM accounts, users can access the Internet. There is no need to subscribe for an Internet account. The user merely dials "128+14 digit card no." and access is immediately granted to the Internet without being prompted for a username or a password.

Announcing the more than 20 per cent cut in rates for these two services, Mr. Abdulla Hashim, Senior Manager, eCompany, said: "We are reaching out to occasional users or those on the move with these price reductions. We are encouraging more users to access the Internet and going the extra mile by providing them instant access with no procedures. These two services also offer cost control and portability to users who may shy away from using the Internet due to procedural issues."
