Amman, Jordan- August 14, 2005. Dunya, an international calling card, is now available in Jordan nationwide for consumers. It will enable consumers to make international calls for rates up to 70% lower than previously known.

Dunya, a service provided by Batelco Jordan, is available in three denominations: JD2, JD5, and JD10 and has a wide distribution network across all of Jordan within various outlets, supermarkets, cell phone shops as well as Jordan Post Offices and electronically through Oryx, Ring Jordan and Aramex Media outlets.

The calling card is ideal for those wishing to save and control their international telephony budgets. Dunya enables the caller to plan before-hand the amount of money he/she wishes to spend on international calls and will take away those difficult and unhappy surprises encountered when receiving monthly phone bills

Using Dunya is very simple as it was designed with minimum hassle. Each card contains guided instructions on the back which enable the caller to make calls directly and without any difficulties. It has a toll free access number that incurs no extra charges and will not appear in your monthly telephone bills.

Dunya uses VoIP (voice over internet protocol) technology, where voice conversations are routed over an internet network. This kind of service is legal for the first time in Jordan after the telecommunications market liberalization that took place at the beginning of 2005.

With the full liberalization of the Jordanian telecom market, Batelco Jordan is poised to become the 21st century cutting edge telecommunications provider, capitalizing on the latest technological developments by building a state of the art infrastructure, integrating voice, video, and data as part of its packaging, and providing a host of new and exciting, valuable products and services.
