12 km long, 2-lane Al Aweer Road to become a 4-lane dual carriageway
Dubai - Ascon Road Construction, the road development and construction division of the ETA Ascon Group, has been awarded the R763 contract by the Dubai Municipality. The contract entails widening of the Al Aweer Road, transforming it from its current status of 2 lanes to a 4 lane dual carriageway. The AED 60 million valued project is expected to be completed by October 2006.

The Al Aweer Road project starts from the Dragon Mart up to Al Aweer roundabout with a length of 12 Km, including several junctions and roundabouts. "Ascon Road Construction is privileged to bag this project," said Mr Ahmed Mehran, Project Manager, Al Aweer Road Contract.
The project includes enhancement of the road's existing pavement layers, relocation, protection of existing utilities & crossing gas lines, and improvement of the existing Road lighting to cope with the new width.
Ascon Road Construction intends to utilize their latest state-of-the-art Wetmix and Asphalt plants, recently procured to enhance the company's performance and the quality of their products.
