Dubai-UAE: 1 December, 2010 - Effective managers should work through three phases in a consistent manner over a period of time to pioneer any change. This involves communicating the change through sharing the vision, purpose and direction, in addition to making a strong case for such change, emphasised Dr Ayoub Kazim, Managing Director, TECOM Investments' Education Cluster.

He added: "Facilitating the change by modelling the change they wish to see and providing the structures and venues for discussion and action planning would be the second key factor. Reinforcing the change by integrating the desired mind set and behaviours through effective reinforcement mechanisms would be the last crucial element. This three-point approach is part of the change management guidelines at TECOM Investments."

Dr. Ayoub Kazim's comments came during the 2010 Middle East Change Management Best Practice Conference in Abu Dhabi, marking the participation of Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV), the region's premier destination for human resources management and a member of TECOM Investments' Education Cluster.

Dubai Knowledge Village was the gold sponsor of the event that was held recently in Abu Dhabi. The conference witnessed several regional speakers from the private and public sectors sharing change management success stories, networking and the exchange of ideas and experience.

Jeff Hiatt, CEO and Founder of Prosci, delivered the keynote address at the conference. Hiatt is the author of 'ADKAR: a model for change in business, government and our community' and the co-author of 'Change Management: the People Side of Change'. His change management process is based on best practices utilising research data that has spanned 10 years and five different benchmarking studies.

Dubai Knowledge Village supports several platforms to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices across the areas of education, project management, leadership, work-life balance, investment, sales, IT, design, HR and tourism among others. It also conducts industry specific events, as part of its commitment to developing the human capital of the UAE and the region by promoting dialogue and best practices.
