03 April 2007
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: After two days of fun, excitement and keen business discussions at Dubai International Horse Fair (DIHF) 2007, it was not surprising that the crowds were even larger on the third day of this popular exhibition. The event is certainly living up to its esteemed reputation in the equine industry.

Among the professionals, the veterinarians in particular were well benefited by a day of very educative and informative talks by several experts from across the UAE and high quality presentations. The vets were offered insights on equine related diseases and the progress made in several areas related to the field of animal medicine, and everyone present took home a rich repository of new knowledge.

Commenting on the inaugural Veterinarian Networking Session, Dr. Marc Van Eemeren, DVM -Managing Director of Sharjah Equine Hospital said: "Dubai International Horse Fair  is  growing year on year and we are pleased to be part of this growth with the organisation of this first-ever meeting for Equine Veterinary Doctors. Attendees to DIHF are all very passionate about horses and are keenly looking for information on the type of services that are provided, new products and equipment for their horses., which the show offers.

Trade specialists at DIHF 2007 were also offered some very good news with the launch of the new Supreme Plus Extra Horse Weigh, a highly improved version of the earlier model. The Supreme Plus Extra is 25% wider and has a high quality "non-slip" green rubber flooring that attracts even the most quirky horses to get on the scale. In addition, the Supreme Plus Extra Horse Weigh has foamex lined sides internally that reduces the noise when a shod horse kicks the sides. The easily maneuverable scale is top of the range and has been specially developed with 2 and 3 year old Flat racehorses.

Speaking about the introduction of the new Horse Weigh Model which has been successfully tested on some of the most difficult horses, Mr. William Bedell from Horse Weigh says, "We decided to launch this new product in the international circuit, and DIHF 2007 was chosen because the UAE is our largest export market out of the 23 countries that we are currently exporting to. This is Horse Weigh's 3rd time of exhibiting at the DIHF."

Another exhibitor in the limelight is HR Medics, a UK-based company exhibiting at DIHF for the third consecutive since the inception of the show. This year, they are launching four exciting new products at their stand which include an ultrasound inhaler, a laser thermoscan, the Vario Plus mobile laboratory and a recovery rug, and has attracted a constant stream of interested visitors, checking out these innovative products.

Commenting on their presence at DIHF 2007, Ms. Elaine Welsford of HR Medics said, "The show is perfect to launch our new product range. This is much better than last year with a lot of veterinarians attending the seminars, and also the horse owners visiting. The show is busy and has a cosmopolitan environment."

In addition to these exciting business opportunities and industry insights, two other star attractions at DIHF 2007 also drew in the crowds. One was the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship which showcases the beauty, agility and heritage of purebred Arabian Horses. The other major crowd puller was the Horse Auction by Al Faisal Stud. Attendees were treated to a dazzling display of majestic horses at both the events.

There is something for all at DIHF2007, which ends on 4 April. The exhibition is open from 2:00pm to 9:00pm, with lots of excitement, plenty of events, tremendous level of knowledge sharing and much more for everyone.

Dubai International Horse Fair 2007 will be held in Hall 1 and Zabeel Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC). The event will take place from 1 - 4 April 2007 and Opening Hours are 14:00 - 21:00. Admission to DIHF is free of charge, and open to both trade and general public. All persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
