Dubai, 14 September 2013: Dubai Exports, the export promotion agency of the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai, led over 20 UAE companies to KazBuild, the premier construction trade fair in Central Asia held at the Atakent Exhibition Centre in Almaty, the capital of Kazakhstan, from September 3 to 5, 2013.

The exhibition also saw the UAE companies winning not less than 52 export deals with expected total value of AED 338.3 million - 8% higher than in 2012 - from Kazakh firms and international importers.

Dubai Exports led the UAE firms to Kazbuild with the aim of showcasing the diverse capabilities and competitiveness of the local industry in supplying to the construction and related sectors in the fast-growing Central Asian economies as well as adjoining markets like Russia and Europe.

"Many of these local companies have since developed their expertise into export quality and are now confident of competing globally. Dubai Exports is committed to providing them with the right growth channels and opportunities through linking them to new markets and demand across platforms such as Kazbuild," said Khalid Al Mansoori, Manager of Exhibitions & Delegations Services at Dubai Exports.

Kazbuild is an event of special interest and mileage to UAE firms given the economic momentum and prospects in Central Asian countries and the common focus on economic diversification, trade and energy that they share with the UAE. Kazakhstan presents sizeable opportunities in sectors such as plastics, petrochemicals, building materials and construction, metals, furniture, and electrical equipment.

"As an annual exhibition Kazbuild provides a recurrent platform for UAE companies to establish and progressively build on connections in the Central Asian market. The dedicated sections for diverse products and services related to construction also allow exhibitors target the right audience and create a stronger impact in terms of awareness and deals," added Al Mansoori.

Kazbuild 2013 had 520 on-site and off-site exhibitors from 25 countries. The UAE was one among the six countries that had their national pavilions at the event, along with Germany, Italy, Poland, Finland and South Korea.
