Dubai Courts verdict: VoIP Solution with Mitel

Dubai: Mitel, the trusted provider of IP communications solutions and applications for growing enterprises, today announced that Dubai Courts has implemented a Mitel IP solution to update the existing communications system and increase call volume capability.

Dubai courts, one of the oldest entities in the emirates dating back to the days of the foundation of  Dubai as an emirate itself  in 1833, has decided to migrate its Mitel SX-2000 TDM to the, the Mitel 3300 IP Communications Platform (ICP) a flexible and evolutionary IP PBX that scales to 65,000 users.

''With such diversity and advancement we are now witnessing in Dubai, Dubai courts are keen to keep pace with the change and offer responsive services to both the legal profession and the public. We are therefore undertaking a daring modernisation initiative to automate all aspects of our operations and maintain our high profile image in Dubai particularly in light of recent increased activities in relation to property laws, FDI and other international Dubai based activities,'' said Hashem Al Hashmi of Dubai Courts.

"Over the years the Courts have maintained a very high standard for all the services and legal facilities utilizing 900 ports with the Mitel SX-2000. Due to the increase in call volume, the Courts recognized the requirement to update the communications system and selected Mitel for the migration and expansion to IP," said Hisham Amili, Mitel GM, GCC

"The Courts were impressed with the Mitel SX-2000's performance and are convinced of the need to migrate to IP and protect their existing investment while still retaining a reliable system. The Mitel IP solution is simple and cost-effective to deploy, giving the Courts the opportunity to grow the solution with the business," concluded Mr. Amili.

The Court's Mitel IP solution includes the Mitel 3300 ICP, the Mitel Contact Center Solution and the Enterprise Management system.

"As a result of a closer working relationship with the customer, Dubai Courts and our principle partner, Mitel, we are able to assure the customer of an easy, gradual and cost-effective migration from TDM to the Mitel 3300 ICP, offering independence and limited reliability on third parties. The migration maintains system transparency, improves high traffic handling, requires minimum training and causes minimum disruption to existing operations,'' said Mr. Mike Atkinson, Managing Director of Telematics, Mitel's authorized Channel Partner.

"Mitel's notable strength is not just in the technology itself but also in the service and local supports it provides via its accredited channel Telematics. We are regularly visited and updated by Mitel and Telematics staff,'' Mr. Al Hashmi observed.
