Arabic section launched on www.mydsf.ae Malayalam is next in line

The DSF office recently re-launched its colourful website marking the 10th special year of the shopping, winning and entertaining extravaganza. Keeping in step with the glitzier, more glamorous celebrations of the Dubai Shopping Festival 2005, the website www.mydsf.ae is like an online festival in its own right. So, it's little surprise the new interactive DSF website oozes with visual appeal and an extremely user-friendly format.

The good news for the surfer is the addition of the much-awaited Calendar of Events which is a complete guide to the DSF's 32-day-long happenings with details of each and every event uploaded on the website. The over 200 exciting events are available at the click of a button as you could easily search for the events under the day-to-day calendar as well as major events and conferences with their timings and venues which will help revellers to plan their outings well in advance.

Another good news is the launch of the Arabic section which was also awaited impatiently by the people in the region. This bilingual site is of paramount importance to the native speakers as they can now get first-hand information about the various activities of the most endearing family festival. Next on line is the Malayalam section which will be launched soon. Above all, the new search engine introduced on the site will make surfing easier and faster.

With a complete revamp with regards to the layout, visuals and the colossal amount of information available to meet the needs of visitors, journalists, sponsors and DSF participants, the biggest advantage of this user-friendly site is its interactive facility.

Now retailers and restaurants interested in participating in the 10th DSF can register online by simply visiting the "Join Us" section in the new website. Or if you want to plan out your day and need a list of the activities taking place during the festival by clicking on "What's On."

Whether it is a bit of background about Dubai you want to read up on, or trying to get about in the city on your own, check out "Discover Dubai." Besides the history and important statistics of the emirate, this section provides you with a novel interactive map of Dubai with its useful move, zoom and print options. An important component of the new website, is the addition of the Media Centre which provides numerous press releases, and the daily free newsletters which anyone can sign up for.

The "City Guide" section is designed to prove useful not only to the visitors, but also to the residents of Dubai. An all-inclusive section, it includes everything from eating out and shopping to historical tours, and entertainment. This segment also features a comprehensive listing of hotels, phone numbers etc. throughout Dubai to local climate, healthcare, transport and visa procedures, complete with listings of phone numbers.

DSF is a time for competitions galore. Click on the website's "Different Concepts" and join in the fun. Now you can also find out if you are the winner of the website competitions by just moving your mouse to the prizes section updated daily. There is a separate area dedicated to various DSF Patron, Key and Support Sponsors with information on their company profiles, offers, logos and commercials besides the section on awards and the facility for registrations. The web site is indeed a valuable source not only for residents, but also for those global visitors planning a trip to Dubai during the festival.

The Dubai Shopping Festival 2005 runs between January 12 and February 12, 2005. For further information visit DSF website: www.mydsf.ae or call Ahlan Dubai on 600545555.
