CMCS shares guidelines on 'delivering successful projects' with DQA assessors
Dubai, December 10, 2007 - The Dubai Quality Award (DQA) Secretariat at the Department of Economic Development (DED) recently organized a project management workshop for DQA assessors on achieving excellence and ensuring quality control by adopting best practices. This initiative aims at enhancing the knowledge-base of DQA assessors.
Collaboration Management and Control Solutions (CMCS), a leading provider of project, portfolio and risk management applications and training courses in the Middle East, conducted the workshop to over 40 DQA assessors. It focused on how best practices in project management can improve business performance and enhance productivity and profitability while reducing risks.
"The Dubai Quality Award provides an international framework for companies in the public and private sector of the emirate to enhance their performance, achieve better results, and thus contribute to the overall growth of Dubai's economy. Over the past years, DQA has positioned itself as the true testimony of the quality standards adhered to by companies. By presenting the award, DED honours the commitment of companies to quality and service standards," said Dr. Lway Nackasha, Advisor, Quality and Business Excellence at the DED.
He added: "DQA plays an important role in raising the culture of quality and boosting productivity by adopting best practices. This has led to the strong performance of the private sector, and prompts more companies to be aligned with the goals and objectives as outlined by DQA. Applying effective project management is an essential part of our organization as it leads to higher standards of quality and performance. CMCS, a true leader in this field, provided valuable insights on how our scope of work can be handled swiftly without compromising on the quality of the assignment."
Following a global methodology, CMCS discussed ways to measure performance, track steps for improvement and collaborate with team members to deliver a successful project. All attendees received a certificate of completion from CMCS.
Bassam Samman, CEO and Founder of CMCS said, "We praise DED for this initiative and for their commitment to train teams on how to apply global standards in project management to ensure the quality of their deliverables. With effective project management, teams can plan, define and manage projects scopes. Furthermore, they can strategically align, prioritize, plan and successfully deliver any number of given projects to achieve the desired goal."
