February 21, 2011: ASTER Medical Centre, the leading Healthcare Group in the Middle East and India, recently opened its sixth center in Al Khor. The Center was inaugurated by Her Excellency Mrs. Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa (Indian Ambassador to the State of Qatar), in the presence of Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman, DM Healthcare, Dr.Sameer Moopan (Managing Director -Qatar) and Dr. Nazar Moopan (Medical Director - Qatar ) on 20th February 2011.
'Aster Medical Centre - Al Khor' is the sixth medical centre in Qatar, which caters all the medical needs of the people in Al Khor who were getting the medical aid from Doha. The centre offers the General Medicine, Gynaecology, Dermatology and Dental departments initially and the department of Paediatrics and Radiology will be added soon. The clinic will be having a referral facility if required for all the other departments which is not available in Al Khor to the clinics in Doha.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman, DM Healthcare said "DM Healthcare has plans to set up 5 ASTER Medical Centres in the suburbs of Doha in the coming 2 years; out of which the new ASTER Medical Centre in Al Rayyan will be launched in March 2011 and in Al Wakra by the end of June. DM Healthcare is coming up with a 50 bedded general hospital in 2 years time; the land for the hospital has been identified and the approval to construct the hospital from the Supreme Council of Health is completed".

This is the 6th unit of DM healthcare in Qatar which includes 5 Medical Centres and a Diagnostic Centre. We also have 5 Pharmacies attached to the Medical Centres. We wish to reach out to the people of Qatar by opening another 5 Medical centres in strategic locations in Qatar. The Medical Centre in Al Rayyan is completed and will be inaugurated officially in a month's time. In Wakra, the work of the Medical Centre is progressing and will soon be operational.
