Dubai Municipality has issued recently an order asking all advertising firms to remove diesel generators used to operate advertisement boards which cause harm to the environment. It was announced by Eng. Yusuf Abdullah, Acting Director, Building Department with Dubai Municipality.
"Diesel-powered generators pose a threat to the good condition of our environment . Moreover, it distort the overall fair appearance of the city." Said Eng. Yusuf in this regard.
He said advertising companies can use electricity for this purpose.
Building Department will be issuing urgent messages to companies asking them to apply for electricity meters for this purpose.
Companies can send their application through e-service system or by contacting through Buildings@dm.gov.ae. After examining their applications DM shall issue the consent and send it to DEWA to fix the meters and set the connections.
Eng. Yusuf added saying that this new move is as a part of Dubai strategic plan to become a Green& Sustainable City .
