15-day special treat awaits the little ones
In line with the best of entertainment showcased during the 10-week retail and tourism extravaganza, the Dubai Summer Surprises Office has announced that the popular Disney Movie Magic will be recreated once again in 2004.
The Disney Movie Magic, to be presented at the Century Cinema between July 7 and 21, will encompass a range of films which enjoy an iconic status and can almost be termed as classics. The event, which attracted 13,500 kids during DSS 2003, is expected to woo over 15,000 children during this year’s edition.
Laila Suhail, Project Director, Dubai Summer Surprises, said: “Over the last three years, the Disney Movie Magic has built a reputation with a huge fan following among the little ones. Reasonably-priced tickets coupled with a memorable experience with loads of goodies and giveaways make the Movie Magic one of the biggest attractions for children during DSS.”
The tickets for the movies, to be screened at 10.30am every day, are priced at Dh10 each, which is inclusive of a free packet of pop-corn. The two-hour movies, which will be shown during the 15-day event, are Finding Nemo, Brother Gear, Lion King, Tarzan, Monsters, Atlantis, Jungle Book 2, Hercules, Peter Pan, Toy Story 2, Lilo & Stich, Treasure Planet, Little Mermaid, Recess Schools Out and 102 Dalmatians.
“The Movie Magic, which involves all the great films, is part of our entertainment package for the kids. The increasing number of kids making a beeline to the Cinema to watch the event is a reflection of its popularity. The number of children who attend each show is proof enough of how eagerly it is awaited by the little ones. Hence, it has been our initiative all along to present the latest and the best from the world of entertainment to make it a memorable experience for the little ones.”
“Disney has always been associated with children’s entertainment and bringing the enchanting characters to life through the cartoons and movies presented at Disney Movie Magic,” said Mr. L. K. Gupta, Regional Business Development Manager from Gillette Oral Care Middle East & Africa, the main sponsor for the Disney Movie Magic.
“We find it a pleasure to be associated with the event, since at Oral-B as well, our mission is to put a healthy smile on as many kids' faces as possible,” he added. A total of 750 tickets over the entire 15-day period will be reserved for children with special needs, who will be allowed entry free of cost.
