An Insight into the Creative World of Movie Stunts

Ever wondered how Arnie did those amazing stunts in The Terminator trilogy?  Perhaps not surprisingly, it wasn't down to the actor himself - but did you know it wasn't merely the magic of modern special effects either?  In a new series beginning in September, Discovery Channel goes deep inside the unseen world of high-impact movie stunts and reveals the secrets of the Stuntdawgs - the men and women who achieve the impossible, executing stunts that otherwise would only exist in the mind of the director.

Premiering on 25 August at 10.00pm, Stuntdawgs features Peter H. Kent, long-time stunt double to Arnold Schwarzenegger.  In this series, Peter takes viewers on an adrenaline-loving trip through the world of movie stunt-making, and during each episode 'the dawgs' - the team of veteran stunt performers, technicians and riggers - put a rookie through a seemingly impossible stunt. From falls off skyscrapers and full body burns, to crash-em-up car rolls and motorcycle jumps, Stuntdawgs reveals what it takes to concoct some of the movies' most spectacular stunts.

Peter H. Kent says, "I am very happy to bring my years of experience working in Hollywood with Arnold Schwarzenegger.  My team of stunt performers and I will reveal on Stuntdawgs many of the inside secrets of the Hollywood action-film stunt world."

Gabriela Schonbach, Executive Producer says, "We follow the Stuntdawgs as they remake big movie stunts their way.  The dangers are very real.  We even show a few stunts that go terribly wrong and almost end in disaster. With his longtime experience in the stunt world, Peter is perfectly suited to provide witty play-by-play insights into the largely unknown world of stunt making."

Stuntdawgs premiers on Saturday 25 August at 10.00pm.
