Beirut, 02 December, 2013: DHL Express, the world's leading logistics service provider, has introduced a new weekly flight into Beirut which will provide customers with industry leading transit times for their shipments to and from Lebanon.
The new flight, which has been in testing since August, will provide a much needed alternative to road solutions for DHL's Economy Select customers. It will also improve transit time for all packages in and out of Beirut as the new flight has been created to coincide with other DHL flights out of the regional hub in Bahrain.
John Chedid DHL Express Country Manager for Lebanon said, "Our main goal is to continue to provide our customers with express solutions; it always has been and will continue to be the drive towards further development in our network and services."
"This new flight aims to provide an even faster express delivery, and will ensure that our customers' businesses continue to run smoothly and efficiently," he continued.
The weekly flight will utilize one of DHL Aviation Boeing 757-200PCF aircraft based at the Bahrain International Airport, regional hub of DHL in the Middle East. Plans are in place to study the viability of adding an additional flight mid-week which could boost capacity to 60 tonnes per week.
The new flight will continue to run on Saturdays and currently serves Economy Select and TDI customers, carrying varied commodities on board ranging from documents to freight items as well as perishables such as high quality produce travelling from Beirut to Bahrain and Doha.
