United Arab Emirates, Dubai, December 16, 2012: His Excellency Engineer Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, recently inspected Rashid Hospital

The 613 bed hospital is one of the oldest in Dubai and boasts of the state-of-the-art Trauma and Emergency centre. The hospital offers a host of specialities across various fields of medicine.

Dr Mohammad Al Olama, CEO of Hospital Services Sector and Dr Shawqi Khoori, CEO of Rashid hospital greeted HE Eng. Al Maidoor and provided him with an overview of the services at the hospital.

HE Eng. Al Maidoor met with doctors, nurses and specialities at the hospital.

He discussed the importance of ensuring high-level quality care for patients.

The Director-General also discussed in details future plans for the hospital including the state-of-the-art outpatient services building, which will cost Dh 38 million and is being sponsored by Abdulsalam Rafi and Sons.

The building will be complete by mid-2014 and will have 84 clinics and all facilities for outpatients, including laboratory tests, under one roof.

The DG also toured the newly refurbished psychiatry department at the hospital, which is equipped with the latest facilities.
