Stocks up vaccines at all health centres across Dubai

Ties up with DNATA to provide on the spot vaccines for travellers who buy their tickets through DNATA offices at Sheikh Zayed Road

United Arab Emirates, September 17, 2011:  Under the instructions of His Excellency Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, the DHA has completed all necessary preparations for this Hajj pilgrimage season.

The DHA has stocked up all vaccines required for Hajj pilgrims across its health centres and traveller's clinic. Moreover, the DHA has tied up with DNATA to provide on the spot vaccinations to travellers who buy tickets from the main office of DNATA at Sheikh Zayed Road.

Dr Ahmed Kalban, CEO of Primary Healthcare at the DHA said, "All preparations are in line with the priorities of the DHA to control infectious diseases and to provide the best medical services and advice to travellers who undertake the Hajj pilgrimage."

The DHA has prepared health education materials with tips and travel advice for all travellers and is distributing these materials across its primary health centres.


The DHA provides all the vaccines which are mandatory for Hajj pilgrims including: vaccines against meningitis and seasonal influenza , vaccines for pneumonia for the elderly and people with chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart problems

Dr Fatima Al Attar, Head of Preventive services at the DHA said that it is imperative for pilgrims to get vaccinated at least two weeks before they enter Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. 

All travellers who issue their tickets for Hajj from the Sheikh Zayed Road at Dnata will get consultation and on the spot vaccination at the DNATA centre where DHA has set up a medical centre for this period.
