Dubai, UAE 3, January, 2012: The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority's (DEWA) Women's Committee organised a workshop on 'Mudra Reiki' under the motto of "The Solution is between your fingers". Emirati specialist Majeda Abdulaziz Masood from Al Huda Mind and Self Development Centre delivered a lecture on Reiki in the presence of DEWA's female employees.
"DEWA organises such events as a part of its strategy to empower working women, reinforce their role and participation in various fields and critical issues inside and outside DEWA, and enhance cultural awareness and knowledge amongst DEWA's female employees. Through these initiatives, we seek to promote women's participation in the community, provide a platform for DEWA's female employees to exchange experiences, expertise and knowledge and raise the bar of their creative capabilities," said Khawla Al Mehairi, Chairperson of Women's Committee.
"Through this workshop we aim to improve DEWA's female employees' capabilities and empower them to further contribute to their community. The workshop discussed ways of getting rid of tension and fear during examinations, face-to-face meeting and interviews, managing stress and emotions at work and at home, curbing negative habits and thoughts, avoiding laziness and unproductivity, strengthening focus and improving memory," said Fatima Deemas, Vice-Chairperson of DEWA's Women's Committee.
Reiki is an ancient practice that relies on the concept of using inner energy to achieve balance and total physical, psychological and spiritual harmony to maintain a healthy and lively lifestyle.
