Dubai, UAE; 12 May, 2014: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has honoured 41 distinguished team categories as part of its commitment to recognise employees for their dedicated service. The award ceremony was attended by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, Rashid Bin Humaidan, Executive Vice President of Distribution Power, and Abdullah Hajri, Executive Vice President of Customer Services.

The Network Design (Jebel Ali) team won the honour as distinguished team at DEWA. They had designed the electrical distribution networks to deliver electricity to 465 new projects with a total load of 1,093 MW and connected these projects to DEWA's network. This design required laying around 613 km of 11kV cables. The team successfully saved AED 160 million by optimising and efficiently using DEWA's resources. Al Tayer honoured the team from the Power & Water Planning division comprising Ameen Mustafa, Abu Alshawareb, Jaffer Murad Abdullah, Amel Hassan Salim Al Obaidli, Ahmad Mustafa Mohammed, Rashid Ali Ansari, Mohammed Eissa Almansoori, Mariam Abdelrahim Al Mulla, Amina Eisa Albalooshi, Noushad M Tajuddin, Gopakumar Thatchyil Gopi, Soundara Pandiyan Vasudevan, Bexell Pravin Isreal Suderson, Aamir Ali Hussain Ashiq, and Naeem Abbas Muhammad Yaqub.

Al Tayer also honoured the Move-Out Automation team from Customer Services and Information Technology division as the best team in the Administrative Experiment category. They had successfully automated the process for the final bills within the specified time. The team included: Mohamed Salem Almana, Samir Labbaci, Muhsen Aqil Mohamed Noor, Saeedullah Mian Muhammad, Laila Ahmed Bandeali, Muhammad Asif Malik, Sunil Mirchandani, Faraj Salem Mohd Saeed Alkendi, Muhammad Mansoor Riaz, Rizwan Ahsan Siddiqi, Mohammad Shabbir Abbasi, Abrar Hussain, Fahad Saleem Sathishkumar Selvarajan, Shajumon Thekkethil Velu and Susmitha Elizabeth Jacob.

The Generation division's Technical Project team was also honoured for the normalisation of inverter and inspection of SFC/Excitation and re-innovated the K-station inverter system, achieving a cost saving of AED 478,000. The Technical Project team comprised N. Ashokan, Mohamed Sayed Mahdi, Shoeb Hasan, Ameer Basha Shaik, Safwat Mahrous Masoud Boqtor, Mohamed Abdelbaset Mohamed, Herbert Doria De Guzman, Mohammad Parwez Ekbal, Sayyed Abdul Rahim Mohd Kasam and Mohammed Abu Ahmed.
