The Dubai-based furniture and event rentals supplier has teamed up with m co to open a branch in Oman, after a successful 10 years operating in the UAE.

Desert River, the Dubai-based supplier of high-end furniture and event rentals has announced its partnership with Muscat-based m co signing their first franchise agreement for the Desert River Event Rentals brand. With a branch opening in Muscat this month, this is the perfect way to celebrate Desert River's 10th anniversary in the UAE and continue their success into Oman. 

With three current divisions: m events, m media and m décor, Desert River becomes the fourth division in the m co portfolio. The new company, Desert River Event Rentals Oman, will help both companies reach a wider, more international audience for events rentals, as well as increase the speed at which Desert River can supply furniture for events in Oman.

m co is an SME that is spearheaded by entrepreneur Maha Al Lamki and was established in 2006 with m decor, an interior design agency. It was soon joined by m events, a full-service events management company and m media, a branding communications agency.

'The standard of events that clients in Oman are demanding has become so much higher over the past three years and the furniture and accessories that are available here was not reflecting that. When we looked at the products and services that Desert River was offering in Dubai, and the way that clients and guests were reacting to them, we felt that the time was right to take this step and give the market what it needs.' says Maha. 'We are looking forward to working with clients and raising the standard of event rentals in Oman.'

2014 was a very successful one for Desert River, having grown to 25 staff members and going from one product line to four international anchor brands; Fermob, Fatboy, ImagiLights and Slide, as well as also representing other strong brands such as Moree, Bloom, Extremis and Design of Love. The successful introduction of French brand Fermob to the UAE market brings the Desert River range of retro and classic-contemporary pieces to homes across the Emirates. Desert River will also be investing to the amount of 2,000,000 AED in new European style contemporary furniture lines for its event rentals business, an additional benefit to the success of the Oman branch.
