Annual gathering for region's amusements industry to take place in April at DWTC

DUBAI 01 June 2011: International Expo-Consults (IEC) has announced that the 18th edition of the Dubai Entertainment, Amusement and Leisure (DEAL) exhibition will take place April 17-19, 2012 at The Arena at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Showcasing the very latest in theme park equipment and leisure services the show, which saw a 25% increase in new exhibitors and a 14% growth in covered floor space in 2011, has already been inundated with bookings from companies keen to exhibit again in 2012.

"By the end of DEAL 2011, 80% of exhibitors had pledged to return next year. The region's amusements industry is returning to prominence as new developments such as Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi enjoy success. As a result of this we are expecting a further 25% growth in the show next year," said Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, Chairman of International Expo-Consults (IEC), organiser of DEAL.

DEAL 2011 saw multi-million-dollar deals conducted on the show floor, with further business being completed in the months following the exhibition.

UK mascot manufacturing company Rainbow Productions agreed the company's first deal with theme park operator, Nicco Park, Kolkata, India, on day one of DEAL 2011. Rainbow has been charged with creating a walk about character of the park's mascot, 'Sheroo'.

UAE-based Amusement Services International (ASI) closed US$4 million worth of business at the show, while Warehouse of Games, another local distributor of international gaming and leisure brands, closed more than US$1 million worth of business.

Some of the world's leading theme park and family entertainment centre equipment providers exhibit at DEAL each year. Exhibitors showcase full-scale rides and redemption games, while entertainers and characters amuse visitors walking the show floor.

Regional and international distributors such as Falgas Industries, Zamperla Middle East and United Distribution represent international brands such as SEGA, Triotech, Magnetic Cash, Simuline and Cogan at the event.

Education also plays a central role with a two-day seminar programme organised by ALES UK - the Association of Amusement Leisure Equipment Suppliers.
