The international corporation UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation services) granted inspections rights to Dubai central laboratory according to the international criteria 17025 ISO, said engineer Abdullah Al Shaybani assistant of the director of technical services in a press conference that took place at Dubai municipality and attended by engineer Salah Amiry head of Dubai central laboratory, and by Hawa Bastaky head         

Al Shabani emphasized that this achievement is a valuable addition to the other achievements accomplished by the department and it came as a result of the rapid effort done by the workers in the department, to achieve pioneering status at the regional and international levels. The accreditation procedure extended for more than a year involving extensive efforts and procedure from exports observing meticulous attention over the accuracy on doing the procedure and efficiency of the machinery used and level of skills amongst the technicians.

It is worth noting that the accreditation includes 32 types of inspections in the field of food and 6 tests of precious metals and 17 items of calibrations.

Al Shaibani pointed out that accreditation to tests in Dubai central laboratory will increase the value results will be universally accepted and subsequently those products tested will be exported to any country without being tested again.they will contibute to enchanting the national economy by extending the countries participating in universal trading. They will also contribute to eradicating the hindrances that affect the trade between Dubai and other countries. This accreditation coincides with universal accepted practices. Engineer Salah Amiri director of Dubai Central Laboratory maintains that this accreditation enhance the position and reputation of the department. And will provide more time and less money. The certificates of products conformity will provide standardization services without any need of universal labs. The universal criteria ISO 17025 according to which inspections done by Dubai central laboratory are characterized by focusing on client services and incompatibility with the objectives and values of both Dubai municipality and the laboratory department.

And Amiri asserts that efforts that were made that the accreditation in Dubai central laboratory and universal criteria ISO 17025. this latest progress forms part of the strategic plan for the years 2006 and 2010 that was updated lately taking into consideration that the laboratory is very keen on performance quality and customer protection. These happen through establishing a laboratory equipped with modern tools and equipments and staffed with excellent technical personnel that are internationally qualified. The available tests held cove household electrical equipments like television and office equipments such as computer and extend to other areas such as cosmetics in particular toothpaste and facial powder.
