For the second consecutive year
Amman, 16 March 2013 - Corresponding with its ongoing efforts to support Jordan's youth and the education sector, DAMAMAX[m1] - a subsidiary of DAMA Ventures and one of the largest backbone operators in the Kingdom providing broadband solutions through optical fiber - announced its platinum sponsorship of the Future Programmers Contest. Organized by the Applied Science Private University (ASU), the Contest took place on 16th March, 2013.
Aimed at unveiling a new generation of talented programmers across the Kingdom's public and private schools, the Future Programmers Contest is held annually and targets 10th grade - Tawjihi students.
As part of the Contest, the Applied Science Private University, in collaboration with a number of companies, aims to encourage and support participating school students by developing their programming capabilities and transforming their ideas into real-life success stories. Each participating team consisted of three students and one supervisor or teacher from the school's faculty. Each team was presented with the option of selecting one preferred programming language: Visual Basic, Java, C++ or Quick Basic.
President of ASU Prof. Ziad Ramadan thanked DAMAMAX for its ongoing support of the University and the Contest, and lauded the Company's sense of responsibility towards the local community. Prof. Ramadan elaborated that DAMAMAX's invaluable support has enabled ASU to unveil promising young talent in the fields of programming and technology.
