The Enshaa Group's architectural feat is a beacon in the heart of Dubai's Cultural Village
Nestled in the heart of Cultural Village Dubai, D1 Tower is a contemporary architectural feat of master developer, Enshaa, the organisation behind globally acclaimed structures such as Palazzo Versace Dubai and Emirates Financial Towers. One of its latest projects, D1 Tower, has also garnered critical acclaim.
On the 1st of November 2016, a panel of esteemed architects came together under the Emporis Skyscraper Award 2015 to dub D1 Tower the 7th most impressive architectural feat in the world, outranking impressive structures such as the ICE II Toronto and Citygate Tower Vienna.
The Emporis Skyscraper Award is the world's most renowned architectural prize for skyscrapers. This year, over 300 skyscrapers of at least 100 meters height competed for the Award. Despite the tough competition, D1 Tower’s unique architectural design caught the eye of many worldwide, with its blend of contemporary design and Arab heritage. Traditional forms of fisherman netting inspired the geometry of the building’s podium canopy whilst the timber construction hints back to the deep-sea vessels common across Gulf waterways. The result is an embodiment of past-meets-present in the midst of modern Dubai.
CEO of Enshaa, Raza Jafar, comments on this remarkable achievement: “We are truly honoured to be given this award; placing 7th in the ranking amongst 300 amazing buildings is no easy feat. Utmost care has been put into each and every architectural and design decision made to create the Tower.
