Abu Dhabi-UAE: 15 January, 2014: The Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi (CWM) established an awareness tent in Khalifa City (A) to host a training workshop aimed to enhance awareness for the importance of waste reduction and segregation, as part of an ongoing campaign. The workshop attracted many women residents and female students from the area by offering insights on how to reuse discarded materials to make new and useful household products and objects of art.

The workshop included a presentation by CWM's awareness team aimed at familiarizing visitors with the concepts of waste management and the different types of solid waste generated by households and factories including paper, plastic, cans, food waste, furniture and glass. The training sessions also highlighted the grave impact that different types of waste have on the environment and on public health and safety including the spread of undesirable odors, proliferation of insects and air pollution.
