The first conference, exhibition and training company to win the award
Group has hosted over 400 events since being established in 1997
Specialises in events and training for the oil and gas sector
London - Monday, 23 April 2007 - The CWC Group (CWC) is proud to announce that it has won the Queen's Award for Enterprise - International Trade 2007, one of the most coveted awards in UK industry. These awards are made by the Queen on the advice of the Prime Minister, assisted by an Advisory Committee and recognise the winners for being among the most successful companies in the UK and for their outstanding achievement in international trade.
CWC provides products and services to the international oil, gas, power and investment sectors, particularly in emerging markets. It organises government summits, industry conferences and business development forums as well as exhibitions, private retreats and high level training. The Group operates globally and over the last 10 years its events have become widely acknowledged within the energy community for their quality, prestigious level of government officials and senior corporate delegation.
Commenting on the award, Managing Director Tim Clark, said: "2007 has been a fantastic year. Firstly, we won the contract to organise the prestigious World Gas Conference in 2009 in Buenos Aires and now comes the Queen's Award of which we are particularly proud as it represents a great acknowledgement of all our hard work over the past 10 years. We are particularly honoured to be the first conference, exhibition and training company to win the award."
Clark attributes the company's success to a high level of in-house expertise, sector knowledge, cultural diversity and the experience that comes from organising over 400 events over the past ten years. "Our 50- strong staff speaks 19 languages and we very much believe that strong communication is the key to success both for ourselves and for our clients around the world."
This year will see over 50 events held across the globe from Benin in Africa to Beijing in China, in the Middle East, the Americas and Europe. CWC is pioneering events in countries such as Libya, where it has worked closely with authorities to provide informative meetings for potential foreign investors. In Saudi Arabia, itis currently helping the government showcase its latest economic and industrial policies. CWC conferences are often used as a platform for government officials to make major announcements and the Group plays a pivotal role in bringing together the major players in the energy sector - one example is the forthcoming Iraq Petroleum event in Dubai. In addition, the CWC School for Energy has also developed successful training programmes for national and international oil companies across the globe.
Clark adds: "The energy industry is a fast-moving dynamic sector and we are already seeing increased demand for events linked to alternative and future fuels. At the same time, our experience in emerging and developing markets means there is strong interest in our services from other industrial sectors. We are very much looking forward to the future."
