Amman, Jordan - 31 May 2012
Cozmo is giving its customers the opportunity to explore British culture during 'British Week', which is being held at its 7th circle supermarket location. The event, taking place from May 30th to June 8th, is being run in partnership with the British Embassy to commemorate two historic occasions; the Diamond Jubilee anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, and the forthcoming London Olympics. British Week is part of a wider initiative by Cozmo to highlight the unique dishes and flavours from countries around the globe.
The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of the British Ambassador Peter Millett, on Wednesday, May 30th. And the British Club's Chef was on site to prepare authentic British dishes for guests to sample. Following the opening ceremony, Cozmo customers were invited to explore the various British-made products prominently displayed for the occasion throughout the week. In addition, several Jordanian Olympic athletes representing the Kingdom in London made public appearances.
"It is a pleasure to add British Week to Cozmo's list of events this year," commented Imad Bukhari, Chief Executive Officer for Cozmo's parent company, The Group. "As a Jordanian company, hospitality to guests is important to us; we welcome British expatriates to our supermarkets, knowing they can find the brands they trust from the UK. We would also like all of our customers to enjoy this opportunity for cultural exchange during their regular shopping experience."
"Cozmo is a great partner," added Ambassador Millett. "This week showcases a tremendous range of British food and other products to the Jordanian and wider international community who shop in Cozmo. This week also helps us to celebrate an exciting summer for Britain"
With four supermarkets in Amman and three additional locations under development throughout the Kingdom, Cozmo offers its customers an unparalleled shopping experience. Cozmo supermarkets feature a wide variety of world-renowned premium brands, including products from Britain's Waitrose and Somerdale.
