DUBAI – Wizz Financial, a leading global fintech company specializing in cross-border payments, has appointed financial regulatory veteran Adrianus (Aryan) Schoorl as its new general counsel and head of compliance and member of the senior management team. Schoorl joins after serving as a partner at White & Case where he oversaw the widely recognized and praised financial services regulatory team in the Middle East. He is a Legal 500 banded lawyer on fintech for three consecutive years and is banded in Chambers Global on fintech as well.

Schoorl has nearly 25 years of financial regulatory experience in Europe, the Middle East and North America working with financial institutions, technology companies and regulators on cutting edge matters. Prior to joining White & Case, he served as a regulator at the Ontario Securities Commission, the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets and the Dubai Financial Services Authority, and in private practice as a lawyer with Allen & Overy LLP, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, CMS Legal and DLA Piper.
