Manama: The Board of Directors of the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) held its first annual meeting of the year, chaired by Mr. Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the BIBF.

The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Directors and Executive Management, in the presence of the BIBF’s Director, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Hameed AlShaikh, to discuss the items on the agenda of the meeting and the executive work plan.

At the offset of the meeting, the Chairman and Board members expressed their sincere thanks, appreciation, and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and their generous support of the BIBF’s programmes, and for His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s inauguration of the BIBF’s new building at Bahrain Bay in January 2022. They affirmed the BIBF’s keenness to implement the directives of His Majesty the King to enhance training and development at the BIBF, and their relentless pursuit and efforts to continue development and enhance training outputs. 

Furthermore, the Board also extended thanks and appreciation to various government entities and the finance sector for their cooperation and confidence in the training programmes provided by the BIBF. The Board of Directors also thanked the BIBF’s employees for their efforts and dedication during the past year, to achieve the desired goals. The Board of Directors also reviewed the results of 2022 in addition to the year-end financial statement of the BIBF.

The Chairman and Board members stressed the importance of continuing to provide the best training programmes to keep pace with the dynamic needs of the financial sector, and the meeting focused on the importance of selecting training programmes that are compatible with economic developments to provide appropriate training for Bahraini human capital.

The BIBF aims to enhance the skills of national cadres to international levels by launching various initiatives and training programmes aimed at making Bahrainis the employees of choice, in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030.
