Dubai Jewellery Group (DJG) is the largest trade body for Dubai’s jewellery industry with around 600+ members representing all sectors of the trade; including gold and diamond jewellery manufacturing, wholesale & retail of jewellery, precious metals, diamond, and pearl, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Crowe UAE Academy, a premier training academy with an expertise in the areas of Governance, Risk and Compliance.

Ms. Mamtha Maria Francis, General Manager of Dubai Jewellery Group and Ms.  Ilhaam Maniar – Partner, at Crowe UAE Academy, signed the strategic knowledge transfer agreement, in the presence of Mr. Dawn Thomas- Partner, GRC Division at Crowe UAE, along with team members from the Dubai Jewellery Group and Crowe UAE Academy.

Under the terms of the agreement, the strategic partners will work together to identify skills gaps in the industry, curate customised programmes, workshops and issue certifications for the professionals and artisans working in the Dealers in Precious Metals and Stones (DPMS) and beyond.

Speaking on the agreement, Ms. Mamtha – General Manager DJG said “We are pleased to continue our partnership with Crowe Academy Professional & Management Training which is a KHDA accredited training institution that delivers specialized programs and curriculum to the precious metals and jewellery sector. The tailor-made training programs will add tremendous value to our mission in developing relevant skills sets of our people”.

He further added “for past several years we have also partnered with Foreign Exchange and Remittance Group [FERG is a non-profit organization initiated by the Central Bank of UAE], by providing AML Compliance / CPD trainings and workshops to all the UAE Money Exchange employees, senior management, and board of directors to raise awareness on Governance, Risk and Regulatory Compliance in line with Central Bank Regulation and supervision on AML / CFT compliance guidelines”.
