Citroën DS3 was named the 2010 Car of the Year by Top Gear, Britain's best-selling car magazine. Motor City, the official distributors of Citroen in the Kingdom of Bahrain, officially launched the all-new DS3 in September, where it was well received among the country's younger generation.
The vibrant icon of design, style and performance was also crowned the 2010 Small Car of the Year as the Top Gear Awards ceremony took place in China. It was the first time Citroen claimed top spot in any of the 12 awards given out annually in the contest's 11-year history.
The DS3 fended off competition from a dozen of the most desirable cars of the last 12 months and it now stands tall among former Car of the Year recipients including the Ferrari 458 Italia, the Ford Mondeo, the Bugatti Veyron and the Volkswagon Scirocco.
The DS3 also scored a hat trick as it grabbed both top place as Car of the Year 2011 from the French Press and Car of the Year 2011 from the Norwegian media Dagbladet and Vi Menn. These three awards further acknowledge Citroën's unique boldness and creativity.
The DS3 is an assertive vehicle with radical good looks that customers can personalize with a broad range of styling components. The Citroen DS3 stand-outs on the road, as it combines driving pleasure and everyday ease of use. It is installed with 2 petrol engines with the THP 150 and VTi 120 with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions.
Another innovative aspect of the DS3 is that its sleek body styling disguises an impressively versatile hatchback. The DS3 makes no compromises on passenger safety as it is fitted with a particularly safe braking system, including a host of standard-fit features such as ESP, ABS, electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and emergency brake assist (EBA). These equipments help drivers in the most difficult situations, including loss of grip.
From the first trim level, the DS3 gets a range of driving aids, such as a cruise control/speed limiter and a gear change indicator that recommends gear changes to save on fuel and cut emissions.
