Amman - His Excellency Dr. Bassem Awadallah, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, and Mrs. Suhair Al-Ali, Citigroup Country Officer, Jordan, today inaugurated the pioneering "Capital Markets and Project Finance" training seminar, a six-day intensive workshop on the latest corporate finance techniques. The training program will be attended by 27 high-level officials from Jordanian ministries and governmental institutions.
The workshop, supported by a grant from the Citigroup Foundation and conducted by Citigroup employees, is designed to provide participants with the necessary financial skills to address complex financial models presented by local and international partners and to familiarize them with funding techniques for large projects. The curriculum includes a comprehensive overview of fixed income tools, pricing and hedging techniques, project finance structures and detailed case studies relevant to the Jordanian market.
His Excellency Dr. Awadallah, said, "We are pleased to see this initiative by Citigroup which complements our efforts to enhance the qualification level and skills of the Jordanian institutions. It reaffirms Citigroup's commitment to participate in the development of the Jordanian financial market and in grooming the country's talent in order to better manage capital inflows and maximize economic value of direct foreign investments. As the Kingdom's economy leaps forward, these sophisticated financial skills will become crucial in negotiating and designing efficient financial structures."
