Amman - Citibank announced today the appointment of Mayank Malik as the Chief Executive Officer for Citibank Jordan replacing Ziyad Akrouk who is transferring, as CEO of Citibank Kuwait.
Mayank is a seasoned banker who has spent most of his 25-year banking career within Citibank ranks, mainly in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Most recently, Mayank was the CEO of Citibank Bahrain where he oversaw the bank's activities across corporate and consumer banking for over three years.
Prior to moving to Bahrain, he served as the Citi Country Officer for Tanzania, and had managed a number of senior assignments in various areas of the corporate and investment banking across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. He also served as Chairman of Bahrain Association of Banks and Chairman of the Tanzania Bankers Association.
Citibank Jordan was established in 1974 and is a fully licensed commercial bank having two branches in the capital city, Amman. The bank is considered a market leader in the fields of Corporate, Investment and Commercial Banking, serving both local Jordanian market as well as clients in Iraq.
In its 36- year presence in the Kingdom, the bank has evolved into an active corporate citizen, with a particular interest in supporting financial and higher education, microfinance and other humanitarian needs in the country.
