Dubai: The award-winning Chrysler 300C that is arriving in Middle East showrooms, has appeared in a list of luxury cars that a Chief Executive can safely be seen in by workers and shareholders.
For the second year in a row America's Chief Executive magazine published its list of Top Ten cars for Chief Executives if money was no object. The Chrysler 300C was listed as one of three 'professional' cars priced at under US$75,000 in which a CEO could be seen by employees and shareholders without them raising howls of protest.
According to Chief Executive's Editor-in-Chief William J. Holstein: "If a Chief Executive shows up at work in a car worth over US$300,000 it sends a bad signal."
In the Middle East the Chrysler 300C retails for under $40,000.
Holstein suggested that expensive cars like the Maserati Quatroporte, BMW 645 Ci and Bentley Continental GT are for private time when executives are free to indulge their appetites for some finer metal. Cars like the Chrysler 300C are perfectly acceptable to all and delivered both the luxury and performance a CEO expected.
With its entirely new shape based on the Chrysler's all-new rear-wheel drive architecture, a long bonnet, short deck and dramatic profile complete with 18-inch wheels, the all-new Chrysler 300C classic proportions has a stunning presence.
More importantly, after a 50-year break, the HEMI engine returns to the Chrysler brand. The legendary engine design that powered Chrysler's 'letter series' cars in the 1950s has been reborn as a modern, high-performance, fuel-efficient and durable all-new 5.7-litre HEMI V-8. With 340hp and 387 lb.-ft. of torque, the Chrysler 300C accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
The Chrysler 300C is also the first modern volume production vehicle introduced into the Middle East to feature cylinder deactivation. The Chrysler Group's Multi-Displacement System (MDS) seamlessly turns off the fuel consumption in four cylinders of the 5.7-litre HEMI engine when V-8 power is not needed. This provides a world-class combination of outstanding performance, power and competitive fuel economy.
"The new Chrysler 300C is alluring, comfortable, safe and exciting, the very essence of the Chrysler brand," said Bruce Ohms, Vice President, Director, Chrysler, Jeep? and Dodge Middle East. "It's the perfect vehicle for the Chief Executive or businessman who wishes to show that he has arrived but wants a car to cater for his family needs as well."
