Dubai, UAE, 11 October 2010 - The GAC Group's long-standing relationship with Chevron Shipping Company LLC (CSC), the fleet subsidiary of Chevron Corporation, entered a new phase with the renewal of their worldwide agency contract.

The new contract - which sees GAC continue as CSC's sole producer of tanker agency services around the world - was recently signed at CSC's headquarters in San Ramon, California, by CSC's General Manager for Commercial, Thomas Olinger and GAC's Group Vice President, Solutions, Christer Sjödoff.

Milestone

It is the latest milestone in a business relationship that dates back to the early 1970s, when GAC was a growing force in ship agency services in the Middle East.

In 1996, the two companies signed an alliance agreement appointing GAC as the sole agent in the East Mediterranean, Black Sea, Middle East and Indian Subcontinent. Three years later, that agreement was renewed with the addition of Africa and Europe, and in 2002 the two companies sealed the first global agency contract.

Continued trust

Thomas Olinger says CSC's decision to stay with GAC stems from its consistently strong performance as a global agent, with high levels of service delivered at all locations.
