Company seeks to educate technicians and installers in state of the art Wibe cabling technology
United Arab Emirates, Dubai: In its consistent quest to provide the region with the best in technological solutions, Cavotec Middle East FZE, the leading supplier of environmentally friendly power solutions, has announced the opening of its Wibe technical Academy. Cavotec's intention is to regularly hold courses and train installers as well as consultants in Wibe's Cable Support Systems.
Mr. Thomas Widegren, Executive Chairman of Cavotec Middle East, said: "We are very pleased to initiate the academy for the first time in the Middle East, our objective is to train technicians here in very simple yet advanced technology, which is both time and cost efficient. There is a growing need within the region for technical training centres and our mission is to always provide the region with the most advanced and innovative technology which also is cost effective and simple to use."
Founded in 1929, Wibe was the first producer of cable ladders in Sweden and has for more than 70 years been the market leader and foremost in the development of new products and systems.
"In the burgeoning regional construction boom searching for the necessary skills is always a challenge, This lack of skill is a burden on companies resources, whatever their industry, be it installing electric cables in towers or airports, the Wibe system is ideal for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) installers and contractors." Wibe's founding owners Mr Wikstrand and Mr Berg, realised that a ladder could just as well be horizontal as vertical. That it could just as easily carry the weight of cabling as people. Today, Wibe are the leading supplier of ladders and trays and offers an extremely wide range of both products and skills. Wibe joined the worldwide Schneider Electric group in 1999.
"At Cavotec we feel a sense of responsibility, we see that the lack of skilled labour in the market is being a burden on construction companies and MEP installers, and this is why we have decided that we should bring to the region this simple, easy to use yet advanced technology, our systems are very cost effective and environmentally friendly. The Wibe training academy will teach MEP installers how to significantly reduce their costs by saving huge amounts of time and money, undertaken to install cables using unpractical conventional methods." Added Mr. Strommer.
Wibe is an all encompassing technology that provides ladders that are installed both vertically and horizontally to carry electrical cables over very long areas, which is ideal for high rise towers.
Cavotec has recently opened its AED10 million Dubai Regional headquarters, which includes a massive warehouse and total area of over 7,200 sqm. "Our headquarters shows our commitment to the region, we are here to be close to our partners and to bring our advanced technology, with this we are able to positively contribute to the ongoing development of the region, which we are proud to be part of." Mr. Widegren further explains.
