Causeway's Cost and Programme management suite (CATO) has recently been selected by a number of leading companies - including Cyril Sweett, Parsons, Davis Langdon (an AECOM company) and Cowi Larsen - for the management of a number of prestigious airport developments in the Middle East.
In Oman, Causeway have provided the post-tender cost management solution to manage the construction phase of the Muscat and Salalah Airport development. The solution that forms part of the CATO suite will be used to provide controls in managing agreed budgets and change control with contractors on behalf of the client. Causeway was selected through negotiations and presentations to the programme managers Cowi Larsen and cost consultants Milcris and Cyril Sweett .
"The complexity and scale of airport construction projects means that effective cost control is of paramount importance," explained Kevin McIntyre, Director of Cost Consultancy at Cyril Sweett. "In particular, costs can quickly get out of control without timely and accurate information that provides a meaningful picture of the actual costs against the budgeted costs. With its agility, consistency and ease of use, CATO is an ideal tool for keeping projects such as airport developments on track," he added.
In the expansion programme for Abu Dhabi International Airport, CATO will provide cost planning and electronic CAD drawing measurement software for the tender process phase. The Causeway solution was selected after a thorough review of estimation and cost planning software vendors.
This prestigious and extensive programme encompasses Al Ain International Airport, Al Bateen Executive Airport, Sir Bani Yas Airport and Delma Island Airport. The Causeway deliverables also include project document control modules developed for construction projects to control documentation, workflow processes and also to provide the collaborative platform for the programme managers.
