Colour laser All-in-One
The MF8180C is the first Colour All-in-One in Canon's Laser Base range, combining a colour laser printer, colour laser copier, colour scanner and high speed fax in one robust and durable unit. Colour prints are generated at 2400 x 600 dpi enhanced quality, with Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black toner cartridges, and a single drum cartridge for printing, copying and fax printing.
In conventional printers, the fixing roller is coated with oil to ensure that paper does not adhere to it during fixing processes. Canon uses its originally developed S Toner, comprised of perfectly spherical microparticles, in the MF8180C. S Toner incorporates wax at the core of each toner particle. With S Toner, oil-less fixing becomes possible because this wax is released and spreads out during fixing. The result is output images without the glossiness associated with conventional toners
Colour toner cartridges and the drum cartridge are easily replaced. Changing the drum cartridge replaces the unit's core elements, making it almost as good as new.
Speed with Canon printing technology
The MF8180C has print speeds to cope with the demands of any busy office or work unit. Mono prints and copies are generated at 19ppm, and colour at 4ppm. Canon's Colour On-Demand Fixing Technology instantly fuses the toner onto the paper thereby eliminating the warm-up time from standby mode, and considerably speeding up the time it takes to generate the first print or copy.
Efficient document handling
When copying, scanning and faxing multiple page documents, the MF8180C's Automatic Document Feeder, with a 50 page capacity, means that large documents do not have to be split for processing. The device has a large 250 sheet cassette, and a 125 page Multi-Purpose tray. Utilising the Multi-Purpose tray for papers of other types and sizes ensures that normal paper supply is not disturbed, allowing greater efficiency in operation.
The MF8180C uses high yield cartridges. Colour toner cartridges are capable of a print yield of 4000 pages, whilst the drum can yield 20000 pages mono (5000 pages colour), based on 5% coverage.
Connect to your network
With a Built-in network interface, the MF8180C can be directly connected to an Ethernet network to act as a shared printer. Connected users can also send faxes electronically from their PCs. Additionally, users and administrators can use the Remote User Interface to monitor the MF8180C via a browser window. Administrators can use the interface to alter and set the machine settings from a central point.
Superior fax
When faxing, the MF8180C uses a Super G3 modem to transmit at 33.6kbs, and can store 256 pages into its memory. There are 18 one-touch and 100 coded speed dials.
Quality scanning
The MF8180C's inbuilt scanner uses a CCD sensor to easily capture the details of books, magazines and even 3 dimensional objects placed on the glass. It utilises 1200 x 2400 dpi optical resolution, with enhanced resolution up to 9600 x 9600 dpi to achieve superb results, which are rapidly transferred to PC via the High Speed USB 2.0 interface.
