Sherezade Films (SF), a leading Middle Eastern entertainment company, Kuwait Cable Vision (KVision), a Kuwait based full media services company and Desert Door Productions a Dubai based Film and TV production company announced today that they have joined forces with the aim of making Sherezade Films a key player in the western independent film industry.
In the past 36 months, Sherezade Films has become one of the first Middle Eastern companies that has tapped into the Western films industry. SF has, since early 2006, co-financed and co-produced 12 first-class Hollywood feature films, such as SMART PEOPLE, starring Dennis Quaid and Sarah Jessica Parker, THE LUCKY ONES with Tim Robbins and Rachel McAdams,and NEW YORK I LOVE YOU, with notable stars including Orlando Bloom and Nathalie Portmann.
Both KVision and Desert Doors Productions have invested significantly in SF and, together, they have become a major shareholder in the Company. The additional capital funds will be allocated toward new western film productions, acquisitions of a film animation and distribution company.
