Partnership Enhances the Management of Arab Companies' IT Infrastructure

Dubai, UAE October 04, 2006 -CA today announced its support for the Intel vPro technology package of hardware and software at Intel's Middle East launch event in Cairo. This follows a series of global Intel launches that CA participated in. CA's support enables customers in the Middle East realize the benefits of adopting vPro technology in order to optimize service levels and reduce total PC ownership costs.

CA's announcement centers on the Unicenter NSM r11, which currently supports the Intel Professional Business Platform. This state of the art technology from CA features innovative capabilities such as remote booting, secure remote power control, out-of-band discovery, provisioning and health monitoring to further simplify and scale systems management operations.

Intel vPro technology enables organizations to manage IT environment and react to problems, where traditional software would be ineffective in situations where systems have suffered operating system failures or have been powered off. CA's Unicenter NSM r11, which currently supports the Intel Professional Business Platform, takes advantage of these missing capabilities to further enhance the management of an organization's IT infrastructure.

"In a wired workplace, employee productivity and overall business performance depend on the health of the user's desktop," said Tony Prince, Regional Manager at CA for Egypt and the Levant. "Working together, Intel and CA are ensuring that this health can be optimally maintained while making it possible for our customers to re-allocate IT staff to other critical responsibilities."

Large and small businesses alike are seeking ways to reduce IT workloads, even as the complexity and scale of their computing environments continue to grow. The combination of Intel's next-generation platform and CA's industry-leading management solutions enable them to achieve this important objective.

"CA has worked closely with Intel to design management and security solutions that take advantage of Intel vPro technology," said Khaled Elamrawi, Intel's Country Manager for Egypt, Levant & North Africa. "As a result, businesses and IT will be able to ensure strengthened security and lower costs through automated and responsive PC support and repairs."
