24 February 2003

Following changes in travel advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to British nationals travelling to Saudia Arabia, Bahrain,  Qatar and Jordan, British Airways is making adjustmtents to its schedule for the whole of the Gulf region.

The change in schedule is part of a carefully planned series of measures that will allow the airline to maintain a smooth and safe operation to the region.

The changes are:

From Tuesday 25 February, flights to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai,
Jeddah, Kuwait, Muscat and Riyadh will operate via Larnaca in Cyprus.
  • Services to Kuwait and Abu Dhabi services will be combined. Flights will operate LHR-Larnaca-Abu Dhabi-Kuwait-Larnaca-LHR.
  • Services to Doha and Bahrain will continue to be combined and will operate LHR-Larnaca-Doha-Bahrain-LHR.
  • Flights to Dubai will be reduced from two per day to a daily service with the BA108/BA109 being suspended.
  • The daily Muscat flight has been suspended until further notice.
  • Flights will be timed to land at London's Heathrow airport as close to the original schedule as possible to ensure that disruption to our customers is kept to a minimum.

We apologise to all our customers who are affected by the changes for any inconvenience this may cause.
