International Transformation Award presented for innovative product launch

Rotterdam, Netherlands, 15 December 2011 - BPC Banking Technologies, the leading provider of Open System e-payment solutions for the global financial industry, today announced the winner of the 2011 BPC Transformation Award. BPC conveyed top honors to Banca Transilvania, Romania for an initiative through which the Bank provided a first-of-a-kind customer service by supporting Western Union money transfers through the Bank's ATM network.

BPC also recognized two further clients with runners up awards. National Reserve Bank, Russia received its award for an implementation of a complete in house processing system. The project was completed inside five months and has delivered a marked improvement in customer service at a significantly reduced TCO.

The second runner up was QIWI Bank, Russia for a project to implement the issuance of virtual and plastic Visa cards used in conjunction with the QIWI Purse. This new service greatly extended the functionality of the Purse allowing QIWI customers to make purchases anywhere Visa is accepted in the real and on-line worlds.

Banca Transilvania has used SmartVista to enhance the operational efficiency of its payments business which in turn has improved profitability. Additionally, the Bank has introduced a range of innovative products, including loyalty programs and SMS alerts. Banca Transilvania, already number three in the Romanian card industry has been one of the most dynamic banks in this area, receiving three times in the last four years the Romanian award for "The Bank of the Year in the Cards Business"- the latest, this year, for the activity of 2010.
