BMW Motorcycles has opened the Middle East's first Enduro training school in Dubai.
The BMW Motorrad Enduro Rider Academy has been designed to provide novice motor bike riders with the knowledge and skills required to master the sport of Enduro Riding. It can also help experienced bikers to improve their off road riding techniques.
Situated one hour from Dubai, on the fringes of the mountains surrounding Hatta, the Academy is based on the popular BMW Enduro Parks found in Germany, the UK and South Africa.
“The subject of road safety is a primary responsibility of any motorcycle manufacturer. Sheer riding pleasure and road safety are conditional upon each other,” said Siegfried Heinisch, Motor Cycle Manager, BMW Group Middle East.
“BMW is not only involved in the conventional areas of active and passive safety but also takes on additional responsibility for road users and the Enduro Rider Academy reflects our philosophy of preparing riders for the challenges of off road riding.”
Chief Instructor at the BMW Motorrad Enduro Rider Academy is Sean Linton, BMW Product and Driver Training Manager, Middle East. Linton is an experienced off road motorcyclist and was the leading Middle East biker in the 2003 UAE Desert Challenge.
“BMW Group takes its responsibility to the safety of its customers very seriously,” said Linton. “The Enduro bike facility provides the ideal environment for riders to have their first experience of a BMW Enduro motorcycle and to enjoy the challenge, adventure and fun of the sport while receiving the highest quality off road training.”
The two-day training course, costing US$ 495, includes the use of a R 1150 GS or F 650 GC motorcycle, BMW Rider Gear, a one night stay at the 5 Star Hatta Fort Hotel and all meals and soft drinks. At the end of the course successful participants receive a certificate. Courses are restricted to groups of 10 or less. Private courses, for groups of 8, or more can also be arranged.
The next training courses will take place from February 11-12, 13-14 and 25-26; March 10-11, 12-13, 24-25 and 26-27 and April 7-8. The Academy will also be organising a number of Enduro tours through Oman in February and March.
