Bizladies Bahrain chapter today turned a new page with the announcement of new leadership at this month's gathering which was held at Unisono Tower.
Former president and founder Dr. Petra Schruth officially appointed Dr. Clare Beckett-McInroy as her successor after 3 years at the helm growing Bizladies in Bahrain into a 150 member strong community of women in business.
The Bizladies Bahrain chapter was founded by Dr. Petra in 2009, with the prime goal of establishing a network to connect successful business ladies, who can help inspire and support each other's aspirations and growth. During Dr Petra's tenure, Bizladies Bahrain has become a valued business platform generating positive results and inspiring business relationships and long-lasting friendships between its members, partners and guests.
Commenting on her term in office, Dr. Petra said, "I based Bizladies Bahrain on the Bizladies concept in Austria. I never imagined that there would be such enthusiasm for a professional, female-only organisation in Bahrain and I am proud to say that the results have been exceptional. Today Bizladies Bahrain unites 150 women across over 100 organisations."
Dr Petra added, "When considering a successor, Dr. Clare immediately came to mind as an ideal candidate with her wealth of experience in the education and HR fields, and I thought who better to author our success story for the forthcoming years."
On her new appointment Dr. Clare stated, "The foundation Dr. Petra has established has firmly positioned Bizladies as a key event in the lives of the women who attend. Petra's initiative has not only worked in terms of the growth of Bizladies, her passion has also encouraged other women to become excellent networkers. Bizladies strategy is designed to push growth and productivity whilst empowering more women, especially local women, to succeed and prosper. We will continue to organise events and address the challenges faced by today's highly educated and experienced career women. We aim to offer workshops, round table discussion groups and collaborative research agendas, whilst still ensuring an array of presentations by high profile female business ladies."
Amy Morgan, CEO of Unisono Bahrain, hosted the May event at Unisono's premises whilst also providing a presentation on the nature and drivers of effective communications within the region. A report of the research findings will be published shortly and will be available on the Unisono website for download.
Commenting on the occasion, Amy Morgan said, "We were delighted to host the new president's official appointment at Unisono. We have been members of the Bahrain chapter for two years, and have built long lasting friendships and business relationships. Women are a significant and ever-growing driver of business, particularly here in Bahrain and the region, Bizladies recognizes and celebrates this fact. We are honoured to celebrate with Dr Petra and Dr Clare in this exciting handover period."
