Organisers DWTC announce more facilities to cater to weekend crowds

The overwhelming response to GITEX Computer Shopper, ongoing at the Airport Expo, Dubai, continues as deals and mega deals emerge as the biggest attraction at the annual technology event.  As number of visitors continues to soar with the latest reported figures at 45,700 for the first four days - an increase of 51% over last year's corresponding figures, exhibitors replenish fast-selling stocks.

Acer connecting shuttles from the parking lots to the exhibition hall entrance, additional parking spaces for 200 cars plus the opening of the exhibitors' car park, shuttles from the Dubai World Trade Centre to GITEX Computer Shopper and special Dubai Municipality bus services to Airport Expo from Gold Souk and Bur Dubai bus stations will make access easier for shoppers.

The deals at the Shopper are phenomenal, and stocks are being cleared out rapidly. For instance across all the exhibitor stands, the Nokia 9210 is being sold at Dhs 890, which is an extraordinary deal for a mobile phone-cum-PDA.  Home PC peripherals are being bundled in terrific offers by dealers such as Jumbo Electronics, Trigon, Emirates Computers and Plug-ins among others. Discounts upto 50% are the norm rather than the exception, at the exhibition  which concludes on October 8.

The grand finales of all the Raffles being promoted at the event will be held tomorrow (Friday).  Plug-Ins will conduct their Grand Raffle draw on the last day of Shopper and give away chances to win 2 kilogrammes of gold to one lucky winner.  Surprise winnings will be the flavour of the Jumbo Electronics stand with prizes ranging from Sony 29' Wega televisions and Acer laptops.

Surprise winnings will be a regular feature with Jumbo offering a chance to win daily raffles and a grand raffle of Sony 29' Wega Televisions and Acer laptops.

Grand Stores, which has recorded a 28% increase on it GITEX Shopper participation over last year, has an hourly draw for MP3 players, and for every Dhs 250 spent at their stand, shoppers get a chance to win a Mercedes C180.

The final draws for two Chevrolet Aveos, a Canon promotion, for every Dhs 200 spent at the National Store stand will also be held this weekend.  The Eros Electricals Group, at stand No. L-7 at the GITEX Computer Shopper will be giving away seven 15-inch LCD TVs cum Monitor with every Dhs 200 spent.

The joint credit card promotion from Mashreqbank and MasterCard will give five cardholders prizes valued at twice the sum they spend at GITEX Computer Shopper, up to a maximum of Dhs 5000.

Amongst many other deals, Shoppers can also participate at the Daily Charity Auction at the Jumbo stand at 7:15 PM, proceeds of which will be donated to the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre.
