New S1420 Features Anti-Shake Technology with Optical Image Stabilizer

Dubai, UAE, 16 March 2011: BenQ, leading digital lifestyle provider and 2010 Red Dot Award winner, has launched a powerful high definition digital camera, the S1420 series to the Middle East.

Equipped with O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) capability which prevents blurring and is the most powerful technology in use for anti-shake- the new S1420 is one of BenQ's most technologically- advanced digital camera series launched to date. The O.I.S feature works automatically and compensates for unintended camera movements or slow shutter speeds to deliver crisply rendered, crystal clear images.

The S1420 is also equipped with 14 megapixels high resolution, 26mm wide-angle lens, 5x optical zoom and a 3.0" display. In addition BenQ's new camera series features with 720p HD movie-recording capabilities and BenQ's upgraded HDR II image enhancement technology.

The S1420's 26mm wide-angle lens gives users an expanded field of view ideal for large group shots that won't leave anyone or any detail out, while its 5x optical zoom makes it possible to get great photos of subjects far off in the distance.

BenQ's HDR II image enhancement technology is a feature that enables users to capture images of high-contrast scenes that are usually difficult to photograph well. HDR II depicts the scenes in the photograph exactly how it is seen by the eye, with all the details in both dark and bright areas intact.

For those with a creative streak BenQ's S1420 is the perfect companion. Its array of functions allows users to transform ordinary images into creative art. The LOMO effect enables users to add LOMO style effects to their photographs - darkened-corners, off-kilter exposure and over-saturated colors. 

The Fisheye lens adds an element of fun and provides a wide-angle hemispherical view of the photographic subject which results in the production of quirky, creative images. The Color Accent effect enables users to choose a specific color to highlight in the image turning the rest of the picture to black and white.

S1420's highly sensitive sensor can take realistic-looking, detailed photographs in a low light scene. An ISO 6400 exposure index ensures that photographs in areas with low-lighting are not compromised.
